I have really enjoyed reading your blog...Mr. Rich,
I have really enjoyed reading your blog and I'm sorry you've decided to stop writing. You were my chorus teacher in elementary school and I enjoyed participating in all the rehearsals and, ultimately, the performances. Although I had some really great teachers, particularly Mrs. Kuchar, Mrs. Dorsey, and Marnie Whittaker in "gifted", I had to suffer through a couple of absolutely terrible teachers who have no business even being around children (and who are still employed as teachers, unfortunately). So I particularly enjoyed reading your comments on "Waiting for Superman" in your Feb. 28th entry.

Anyway, although you were never my classroom teacher (I seemed to always be "off" a year--in fifth grade when you were teaching fourth, for example) I just wanted to let you know that I always admired you, and wished you had been my teacher.

I just graduated from UNM with a degree in Pure Mathematics and a minor in Astrophysics, and I'll be a graduate student this Fall. I'm thinking about becoming a math teacher, and I hope that someday I will inspire young minds, as you have.

Thanks again, Mr. Rich.

-PaigeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
