The chorus’s final show brought out the accelerated puberty in the fifth grade girls. Our final and best performance required the kids to dress up in black and white. I told them it’s an elegant look, and it required them to dress much fancier than the audience. Somehow this evolved into padded bras for many of the fifth grade girls, and overnight they grew breasts. They seemed so proud and held their heads higher and stood a little taller.
The boys have no such paraphernalia to doctor themselves up with, but I did see Martin shooting some breath spray into his mouth at the end of the show, just in case one of the fifth grade girls wanted to reward him for his fine solo work.

Funny, now that I am no longer breastfeeding and my chest is now a more manageable size, I NOW stick out my chest and stand tall.
Funny how it reverses as you age...
